Using Jade’s best builds in Honkai: Star Rail is the best way of unlocking her complete potential as a sub-DPS unit – more specifically, one that operates in teams that have follow-up attacks at the forefront. Alongside Firefly, Jade is one of the new characters added with Version 2.3. For reference, this is the same patch that brought forth the final quests in the Penacony storyline. While the release of Firefly in Honkai: Star Rail occurred in Phase 1 banners, Jade’s debut was held back until the arrival of Phase 2 character banners.

Jade, as was previously mentioned, is at her best when operating as a sub-DPS. The 5-star character uses Quantum DMG in battle and follows the Path of the Erudition. The main focus of her gameplay cycle is helping her team increase the damage output against enemies and continuously punishing these opponents with follow-up attacks that feed her buffs. Jade can provide extra damage and SPD increases to teammates while consistently attacking outside of her turn. Because of the power of follow-up attack teams in Honkai: Star Rail, she may be an indispensable asset, as long as she is adequately built.

Best Light Cones For Jade

Prioritize Weapons With Heavy Offensive Stats

Honkai: Star Rail - Best Jade Builds (Light Cones, Relics, Team Comps) (2)

The first step to achieving Jade’s best build is to find her a suitable Light Cone. The 5-star character is a sub-DPS and her offensive capabilities scale off of traditional damage-dealing stats. As such, you will want to find a Light Cone that is capable of increasing stats like CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK. SPD and Energy Regeneration can also be helpful for her kit. In addition to that, if they provide any sort of bonus for follow-up attacks, the Light Cone is more than welcome to be equipped by Jade.

The table below lists the best builds for Jade in Honkai: Star Rail, including Light Cone suggestions, ideal Relics and stats, and more:

Best Build For Jade In Honkai: Star Rail

Light Cone

  1. Yet Hope Is Priceless (Best 5-star)
  2. Before Dawn (5-star substitute)
  3. Eternal Calculus (F2P 5-star substitute)
  4. The Birth of the Self (Best 4-star)
  5. Geniuses' Repose (4-star substitute)
  6. Make The World Clamor (4-star substitute)

Relic & Ornament Set

Relics:

  • The Wind-Soaring Valorous (4 pieces)

Ornaments:

  • Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves (2 pieces)

Stat Priority

  1. CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate
  2. ATK
  3. SPD
  4. Quantum DMG

Skill Priority

  1. Talent
  2. Ultimate
  3. Basic Attack & Skill

The best Light Cone for Jade is Yet Hope Is Priceless, her signature 5-star weapon. When equipped, the Light Cone increases Jade’s CRIT Rate by 16% and, when she is in battle, for every 20% CRIT DMG that exceeds 120%, the DMG dealt by follow-up attacks increases by 12%, an effect that is stackable up to four times. Additionally, when the battle starts or after Jade uses her Basic ATK, her Ultimate or the DMG dealt by the follow-up attack will ignore 20% of the target’s DEF, for two turns. This was tailor-made for Jade in Honkai: Star Rail.

If you do not have access to Yet Hope Is Priceless, there are some substitutes for her. Jing Yuan’s signature 5-star Before Dawn Light Cone is Jade’s second-best option. With it, Jade’s CRIT DMG is increased by 26% and boosts her Skill and Ultimate DMG by 18%. After she uses a Skill or Ultimate, Jade will gain the Somnus Corpus buff, which is consumed when triggering a follow-up attack. Then, the follow-up attack DMG is increased by 48%. Despite not being made specifically for her, this Light Cone in Honkai: Star Rail is a fantastic option for Jade.

If you do not have access to either of those premium 5-star weapons, however, you can give Jade a F2P (free-to-play) 5-star Light Cone called Eternal Calculus. This free Light Cone can be purchased from Herta’s store using Herta Bonds and is easily upgradeable to Superimposition Level 5 with an extra investment of Herta Bonds in Honkai: Star Rail. At S5, Eternal Calculus increases Jade’s ATK by 12%, and, after using an attack, for each enemy that was hit, her ATK increases by 8% – an effect that can stack up to five times until the next attack.

Additionally, if three or more targets are hit, Eternal Calculus will increase Jade’s SPD by 16% for one turn. Seeing her follow-up attacks and Ultimate hit all targets on the field, it is easy to achieve all these bonuses, as long as there are enough enemies to hit. If no 5-star Light Cone is within the realm of possibility, you can instead give Jade a 4-star Light Cone. A great 4-star option for her is The Birth Of The Self. Alternatively, you can use Make The World Clamor or Geniuses’ Repose for Jade’s build in Honkai: Star Rail.

Even if you are stuck with a 4-star Light Cone, it is recommended to farm for Eternal Calculus.

Best Team Comps For Jade

The Quantum Character Can Synergize Outside Of Follow-Up Attack Teams

When finding a proper team comp for Jade, try to optimize the way follow-up attacks work and how she can more often use them. A great way of doing this is by creating a team focused exclusively on follow-up attacks. Paired with Dr. Ratio, currently the only main DPS for follow-up team comps, they can make a devastating duo.

Robin is the best support for this type of team and, despite the effectiveness of shielders like Luocha, this team is expected to lose HP because of Jade’s Debt Collector, so it is recommended that you opt for a healer.

The table below lists some team comp suggestions for Jade in Honkai: Star Rail:

Best Team Comps For Jade In Honkai: Star Rail

Premium Follow-Up Attack Team

  • Jade (Quantum - Erudition)
  • Dr. Ratio (Imaginary - Hunt)
  • Robin (Physical - Harmony)
  • Huohuo (Wind - Abundance) or Luocha (Imaginary - Abundance)

Blade Synergy Team Comp

  • Jade (Quantum - Erudition)
  • Blade (Wind - Destruction)
  • Bronya (Wind - Harmony) or Ruan Mei (Ice - Harmony)
  • Huohuo (Wind - Abundance) or Luocha (Imaginary - Abundance)

Budget-Friendly (F2P) Team Comp

  • Jade (Quantum - Erudition)
  • Herta (Ice - Erudition)
  • Asta (Fire - Harmony)
  • Lynx (Quantum - Abundance)

You can also build a F2P follow-up attack team comp, though it will prove to be a lot less effective. Alternatively, you can even insert Jade as a sub-DPS in teams that do not have follow-up attacks at the forefront. Jade can easily work as a sub-DPS for parties led by characters like Blade, for instance, since her Debt Collector would boost his offensive power and stack with his HP-loss mechanic. This team comp loses a lot of HP and is risky, so your healer in Honkai: Star Rail needs to be at the top of their performance.

If Yunli’s leaked kit in Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 is true and she works as a main DPS for follow-up attack team comps, she may as well be a great substitute for Dr. Ratio.

Best Relics, Ornaments, & Stats For Jade

Some Recent Releases Are The Best Sets For The Character

Honkai: Star Rail - Best Jade Builds (Light Cones, Relics, Team Comps) (3)

In addition to a strong Light Cone and reliable team comp, you will need to invest time farming the best Relics and Ornaments for Jade. The strongest Relic set for her, at the moment, is The Wind-Soaring Valorous. Its two-piece bonus increases ATK by 12% and, with four pieces, Jade’s CRIT Rate is boosted by 6%. Additionally, after she uses a follow-up attack, the DMG dealt by her Ultimate is increased by 30% for one turn.

On the other side of the build, Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves is the best Ornament set for Jade. This gear’s two-piece bonus sees that, whenever an ally uses a follow-up attack, Jade gains one stack of Merit, up to five stacks. Each stack increases the DMG of Jade’s follow-up attacks by 5%. If there are five stacks of Merit, Jade’s CRIT DMG in Honkai: Star Rail will also be boosted by 25%. In team comps with follow-up at the helm, this is perfect.

When farming these Relics and Ornaments, prioritize obtaining the following stats: CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, ATK, SPD, and Quantum DMG. These are the pillars of her offensive potential and should be increased as much as possible. Energy Regeneration Rate is also a good sub-stat to have to allow her Ultimate to be ready more often.

Trace (Skill) Priority For Jade

Use Your Resources To Boost Her Follow-Up Attacks First

Honkai: Star Rail - Best Jade Builds (Light Cones, Relics, Team Comps) (4)

When leveling up Jade’s Traces, you may be forced to make a difficult decision and prioritize increasing one ability over other. It is best if you first level up Jade’s Talent, as this is what dictates the power of her follow-up attacks. Following that, boost Jade’s Ultimate, as this is her secondary source of damage. After those, max out Jade’s Skill and Basic Attack, preferably at a similar rate.

The character banner structure and rerun units for Honkai: Star Rail 2.4’s Phase 1 and Phase 2 have allegedly leaked. Here are all the details.

Overall, Jade’s build is not too difficult to achieve as there are many DPS-focused Light Cones and the recent Relic and Ornament sets fit perfectly into her kit. The team comp aspect may be the hardest to pull off if you do not have access to the other 5-star premium units, but she is flexible enough to work as a sub-DPS in a traditional team comp, too. If not given the best build, Jade can be a useless 5-star character in Honkai: Star Rail, so make sure to optimize her as much as you can.
