So i'm getting a HM Wii game finally~ (2024)

Although the Wii isn't mine xD Its my brothers and he said i could play it and even buy games for it if i want since he rarely plays on it anymore.

After looking through the sale items at Argos (note: i mean staff sale, old catalogue products are sold at discount prices for staff only) and i saw Harvest Moon on the list and at only £10 for it, i thought why not since its cheap and i wanted a Wii game.

So yeah, its Magical Melody and i just want other MM players to give me their summaries on its gameplay, dating and anything else since i know very little on the game.

I'm hoping to get other Wii releases (i was thinking of ToT but theres going to be a newer one soon?).

Yeah, the sequel to ToT, Animal Parade is supposed to come out this year.

I never played MM myself, but I know most people hate the graphics and think they're too chibi and stuff.

Well you're obviously European or some sort of PAL location cause you're using pounds and MM for you is on the Wii.

I've had MM for quite a while and I like it. For your version you can only play as a guy and there are 10 bachelorettes and one bachelorette who if you marry the game ends (I don't like her anyway). I've married two bachelorettes, Nina and Lyla, because they're both AMAZING. XD Whoever your wooing will come to your house twice to give you a gift (one at 2 hearts, the other at 5) and on festivals such as Full Moon Viewing or Starry Night you'll be allowed to go with whoever your wooing and you might get a kiss, which I found quite sweet.

Erm, the game's a bit boring after marriage (which is why I have 2 files, cause I got bored of my first one with Nina after having a baby), but it's still really fun for me.

And since you're in a European place, I suggest you get ToT since the new one which is a sequel, kinda, to ToT won't be out for you for... « Harvest Goddess » knows when.

Well the only reason i'm getting MM instead of ToT right now is cos i have no money. And MM is on sale and my brother said he'll pay for it for me since its only £10.

Yup i'm European ;P British and i hate it sigh but my country doesn't stop me getting American versions of games since i have DS Cute which i got from Hong Kong ;D

I don't mind playing as a guy since i'm used to it since i played FoMT alot (if only i could still play it but my games broke >__>).

Although i did look at them via the GC version on Ushi but there wasn't much.

Why did they make the female and male characters look so alike to the FoMT/DS people? >__<

Well every bachelorette and most bachelor is from a past game. And even then, a lot of characters are related somehow.

Because 5 girls from MM are from the very first game and are the grandparents of the 5 bachelorettes from 64 (Nina to Popuri, Eve to Karen, etc.). Again, game designers can't help them looking a lot alike. Haha.

Looking at the females i was automatically drawn to Ellen

I like the fact you collect music notes, means that i'll recognise the feel to it from the DS ones.

I'm hoping that i will have decided a place to live and a future wife before i get it which should be by end of next week since the sale is early on in next week.

So yeah, you'll have a choice between the bachelorettes from STH and MM. Well, the girls in US and Japan instead of getting MM bachelorettes we get... characters who may be the grandfathers of some of the 64 guys or something.

The note collecting is a LOT more fun than the sprites and less tedious. You get notes from something as easy as doing nothing for five minutes sitting in your house to going to the bottom of the mine. You get notes from making friends, building up the town, shipping, throwing away trash, getting married, MANY MANY things. For marriage, you only need like... 30 and you can get that many by fall if you really wanted. To "beat' it you just need 50, and if you want go after all 100.

The animals are f*cking adorable. Also, if you like chibi's like I do you'll have a lot of fun. It's something unique to the table, it's enjoyable if you look at it that way. In the romantic festivals, they kiss if you have a high enough affection.

You can buy MANY plots of lands, which add's a sort of pizzazz to the game. I like to use my properties for Orchards~ The fishing is pretty easy, though the fish don't sell for much. Mining, is similar to TOT. You can fall through holes, hit geysers and there are stones and blue crystals. There is also some strange gasses and such. Yuck.

I already stated that i had looked at them but they don't give that much information compared to other HM games.

Thats why i was hoping that someone knew of a different website that has any information.
